Meet The Instructors
Ryland Stonehocker joined the Autry Technology Center team in 2000 when he was hired as a night instructor. In 2007, he was asked to begin the Youthful Offender Welding Program. The following year, Mr. Stonehocker accepted the Welding Instructor position on the main campus. With over 30 years of experience in the welding industry, Mr. Stonehocker’s extensive background in welding and fabrication are an asset to Autry and its students.
Mr. Stonehocker’s experience in welding comes from both shop work and management positions all performed across Northwest Oklahoma. Certifications held by Mr. Stonehocker are 6G pipe, 3G and 4G, and he is currently a State Welding Inspector. Mr. Stonehocker has vast experience in electrical substations and repair and maintenance as well as seven years of pipe welding.
Quentin Smith joined the Autry team in 2017 as a teaching assistant for the Welding Technology program. He is no stranger to Autry as he has completed several programs – Collision Repair Technology, First Responder, Firefighter 1, Armed Security Guard, Welding and Power Products.
Before joining the Autry team, he worked as a security officer at Vance Air Force Base, was employed at AW Brueggemann CO and spent four years building scale modified race cars under the company Nightmare Chassis. He built 21 cars from the ground up before making the move to Autry.
He believes Autry is a great fit for him as he is able to help others learn to weld and build different things on a daily basis.
