Have you ever wanted to work on airplanes but didn't know where to start? This course is designed to prepare civilian maintenance personnel to effectively and safely perform aircraft general tasks such as FOD/PPE, safety around aircraft, fueling, required tools, jacking aircraft, safety wiring basics, R&R brakes and tires, radio communication, driving around aircraft, servicing oxygen and nitrogen, tech data, de-icing aircraft, understanding and how to write specific forms, and more! After meeting the requirements of the program a Certificate of Completion will be issued to apply for the Aircraft Helper position at Vance Air Force Base Enrollment may be dependent upon the ability to obtain security clearance, passing a required drug screening, and pass a government mandated physical.

Students will be lead through the CDL manual to get prepared for the written test to attain their permit. The instructor will also answer questions to help the students prepare for the exam.

The Central Tech Truck Driver Training course is the only course in Oklahoma to be PTDI-certified, meeting stringent skill, curriculum and course/program standards. The program utilizes classroom instruction, range and road driving, as well as, practical application of skills used in highway driving. You will be prepared to join the trucking industry after 23 days of training. Cost is $4,800.00; tuition assistance, discounts and grants available. Upon successful completion of the class/exams and having met all requirements, students earn: Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Central Tech Truck Driver Training certificate of completion PDTI seal of attainment indicating completion of all standards The state-of-the-art facility has a driving range with more than three miles of paved roadway on 45 acres. The range is equipped with traffic signs, railroad crossing, and skill practice areas designed to allow each student to develop the skills necessary to become proficient in driving today’s tractor trailers. Two students per truck allows each student a minimum of 44 hours of drive time ensuring the ability to develop proficient driving skills including: Control/Vehicle Systems Vehicle Pre-Trip Inspection FMCSA Rules & Regulations Air Brakes Systems Coupling & Uncoupling Various Backing Maneuvers Progressive Shifting Space & Speed Management Compliance Safety & Accountability (CSA) Hours of Service Night Driving

The National Safety Council Professional Truck Driver (PTD) course is an instructor-led course designed to provide professional truck drivers with the knowledge and defensive driving strategies required for driving collision and citation free. The course focuses on collision prevention through hazard recognition and application of collision avoidance techniques. Throughout the course, participants learn how to recognize both potential and immidiate hazards, how to avoid collisions in a variety of driving conditions, and how to choose safe and legal driving habits, attitudes, and behaviors. The emphasis is on professional truck drivers' responsibility to protect the motoring public and themselves. Participants are engaged through group activities, discussion and self-awareness-oriented instruments that relate to their driving tendencies.

This course is for those that have their permit and require assistance in the drive test skills, backing, parallel parking, picking up students, and other driving practices needed to pass the drive test. This course is one week, four evenings and a Saturday morning.
