Students will be introduced to hydraulic concepts, hydraulic power units, distribution equipment, and common types of hydraulic valves: pressure-relief valves, flow control valves, flow regulating valves, pressure-reducing valves, and directional control valves
Students will be introduced to pneumatics concepts, air conditioning and distributing equipment, basic physical concepts: pressure vs. force, volume and flow relationships, as well as vacuum generation.
Upon completion of this course students will be able to identify the components of a PLC, download a PLC file using PLC Programming Software, monitor and safely run and stop a PLC using PLC software. Also students will perform hands on skills to store and load PLC images to and from a SD card and remove and install an ESM.
In this lesson you will be introduced to the basics of belt drive systems, you will learn how to maintain and repair simple belt drive system. This will include tasks such as, setting belt tension, finding a soft foot, sheeve alignment, and various other tasks.
In this operator qualification course, McElroy University students will learn how to butt fuse small diameter HDPE and MDPE pipe, up to 6" DIPS, using manually operated McElroy equipment such as the Mini-Mc® and Pit Bull® 26. Along with fusion machine operation, class participants will also learn the theory of plastic pipe fusion, keys to contributing to a safe jobsite, and more. This course includes two hours of online prerequisite modules along with one day of in-person class for hands-on training and testing. Upon successful completion of the course material and testing, students receive a qualification that is valid for 2 years.
