TO PREPARE GRADUATES WITH DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCE IN THE COGNITIVE (KNOWLEDGE), PSYCHOMOTOR (SKILLS), AND AFFECTIVE (BEHAVIOR) LEARNING DOMAINS OF RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTICE AS PERFORMED BY REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPISTS (RRT’S).

In this program, the student will learn the therapeutic use of medical gases, humidification, mechanical ventilation, artificial airways, chest physiotherapy and CPR. The student is taught the diagnosis, treatment and preventive care of patients with asthma, pulmonary emphysema, pulmonary edema and respiratory distress. Upon program completion, the student may test for Certified Respiratory Therapist credentials.

INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Deryl Gulliford joined the Autry Technology Center team in 2006 as Program Director of Respiratory Care. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Medicine from Ohio State University in 1980, his Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1985, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Honolulu in 2008. Dr. Gulliford also completed a Fellowship in Public Health Administration in the British National Health Service, London, and holds the rank of Fellow and Diplomate in the American Academy of Medical Administrators. He was elected by his peers as the 2005 William Newcomer Healthcare Executive of the Year for the United States. He is presently State Director for the Academy in Oklahoma. Dr. Gulliford has earned the credential Doctor of Hospital Administration – Rural Healthcare Concentration from St. John University.
Jim Grantz joined the Autry Technology Center team in 2007 as Director of Clinical Education/Instructor. Mr. Grantz began his career in respiratory care in 1991 as an on-the-job trained technician. In 1995 he became a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. Mr. Grantz graduated from Northern Oklahoma College/Pioneer Technology Center in 2006 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science Respiratory Care, and in 2009 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Ethics and Management from Mid-America Christian University.
