Oklahoma School of Science and Math

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics Regional Center provides advanced educational opportunities and challenges for high school juniors and seniors in the Autry Technology Center district who are gifted in the areas of science and math. The school is a branch of the prestigious Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. Students will be enrolled in both calculus and physics during the three-hour period.

 

Since 2000, Autry’s OSSM program has had over 250 students that have received $10.8 million in scholarships. One-hundred percent of Autry’s OSSM graduates have gone on to attend college with 86 percent of them receiving college credit for calculus one and two. These former students have 71 different college majors at 59 different universities. Of these individuals, 22 are National Merit finalists and 19 are academic all-staters. Students in Autry’s OSSM program also take the Advance Placement Calculus BC exam. Forty-seven percent of Autry’s students earn a perfect score. This is almost double the Oklahoma average of twenty-six percent earning perfect scores.

Meet The Instructors

MeiFoon Eastep joined Autry Technology Center in 2014 as the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM) AP Physics C : Mechanics Instructor. Ms. Eastep has a Bachelor of Science (Hon) in Mathematics and Master of Science in Statistics. 

With 20 years of extensive teaching experience, Ms. Eastep has successfully engaged students in a fun and fascinating learning environment. Ms. Eastep’s areas of expertise includes Calculus, College Algebra, Differential Equations, Further Math, Engineering Math, Mechanics, Statistics and Business Decision Making.

Bailey Brown joined the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics at the regional center in Autry Technology Center in Enid, Oklahoma in August of 2018.  Bailey was hired as a Mathematics instructor where she has six years of experience from West Creek High School in Clarksville, Tennessee teaching the Honors level Mathematics courses for grades 10 – 12.  During her time at West Creek High School, Bailey was named Teacher of the Year in 2017 and Green Apple Award Winner in 2015 and 2014.

Ms. Brown is a graduate of Enid High School and Oklahoma State University where she double majored in Education and Mathematics.
