TOUGH QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS
Why not? With the ever-increasing costs of incarceration, this preemptive measure aims to help keep individuals who have already committed a crime, for which they received probation, from a future life of incarceration. Recidivism rates for incarcerated inmates participating in CareerTech Skills Center programs have proven to be drastically reduced, and it is anticipated that a very high percentage of students who participate in this program will go on with their lives as productive citizens without further incarceration.
WHAT ARE THE GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION?
Participants must be 18-39 years old and on probation for various offenses, none of which are of a sexual or predatory nature. We also partner with the Oklahoma DOC and the court system to gain access to potential students.
